The Southwest Center for Resilience in Climate Change and Health (SCORCH) is pleased to announce two calls for proposals from both community organizations and UA faculty researchers to pilot projects implementing solutions to mitigate the challenges posed by climate change and its impact on health in arid lands. Understanding and addressing health inequities experienced by under-resourced and underserved communities in arid lands in the US Southwest and abroad is critical to the SCORCH mission.

Opportunity 1: Community Implementation Pilot Project Awards Call for Proposals

  • Eligible applicants include Arizona-based community or civic non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status, faith-based organizations, and public health and healthcare organizations.

Opportunity 2: Research Pilot Project Awards Call for Proposals

  • Eligible research teams must include faculty from at least two Univeristy of Arizona colleges. The program is open to all faculty.

Proposals are now due by Friday, November 1, 2024, 11:59PM MST. Funding up to $25,000 will be provided for twelve-month pilot projects (period of performance: January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025).
