Jason Glaser is an epidemiologist and filmmaker, the founder and CEO of La Isla Network (LIN)*, and a global leader in occupational safety and health research and awareness. Jason has dedicated his career to combating occupational heat stress and heat-related illness, injury, and death among workers in agriculture, construction, and other high-risk industries. His journey began in 2007, while filming the documentary “Too Hot to Work” in Nicaragua, where he witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of a then-unexplained epidemic of chronic kidney disease among sugarcane cutters. Recognizing the urgency of the crisis, he pivoted from filmmaking to leading groundbreaking research, policy advocacy, and industry interventions aimed at preventing heat-related illness and kidney disease.
