University of Arizona Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health presents theCollege-Wide Seminar "The Mining Disaster in the Sonoran River: Scopes of Social Studies and Health Studies" with guest speaker Rolando E. Díaz Caravantes, Professor at El Colegio de Sonora at the Center for Studies in Health and Society.
Dr. Díaz Caravantes will be speaking about his work to understand the social and health impacts of the Río Sonora mine spill that occurred in 2014. This mine spill of 10 million gallons was three times the size of the Gold King Mine.
